1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide when creating an account, including your name, email address, and profile photo (when signing in with Google). We collect payment information through our payment processor, Stripe — we never store your full card details directly. We collect usage data including uploaded images, generated images, generation history, and billing history to provide and improve our services.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to provide the Modernaview service, process payments, send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, account notifications), and prevent fraud and abuse. We analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve the service. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Image data and AI processing
Images you upload are sent to third-party AI providers (Google Gemini and OpenAI) solely to generate the requested transformations. These providers process your images under their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. Your images are stored securely to display your generation history. You may delete individual generations at any time from your account. We do not use your images to train AI models. Google's Nano Banana image models apply an invisible SynthID watermark to generated images for AI content identification purposes.
4. Third-party service providers
We work with the following service providers to operate Modernaview. Each handles data under their own privacy policies:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Google (Gemini API) — AI image generation
- OpenAI — AI image generation
- Neon — database hosting
- Google OAuth — optional sign-in
5. Cookies and session data
We use one essential session cookie (mv_session) to keep you logged in. This cookie is strictly necessary for the service to function and is exempt from consent requirements. We do not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies. If you sign in with Google, a temporary oauth_state cookie is used for security during the login process and is deleted immediately after.
6. Data retention
We retain your account data and generated images for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (such as billing records, which we retain for 7 years for tax compliance).
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including bcrypt password hashing, HTTPS encryption, secure HttpOnly session cookies, signed JWT tokens, and database-backed session validation. No system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify you promptly in the event of a breach affecting your data.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can delete your generated images directly from the app. To request a full data export or account deletion, contact us at privacy@modernaview.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Children's privacy
Modernaview is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
